Watermelon – Seedless

When we think summer, we think watermelons. They are so sweet and juicy they could be considered a dessert. Our homegrown watermelon season is mid-July to mid-August, but we have sweet southern watermelon available the remainder of the season. We have seedless varieties all season long and seeded varieties available in July. To pick a watermelon that’s ripe and ready to eat, thump it and listen for a hollow sound. Also, look for one that’s heavy for its size with a yellow spot on the bottom. Follow these tips and you’re sure to find a sweet melon!
